- This information is not Operating System specific ---Solution--- The following information applies to Guardian OS servers running 3.0.099, 3.0.099SP1, and 3.2.019.
If IIS is configured to point to files on a Guardian server over SMB, the files accessed by a web browser over IIS unexpectedly add a read-only attribute to the file. This behavior has been reported with some Antivirus applications as well. This condition occurs because the SMBD binary does not properly interpret the functions requested by the client. Note the cause may not be limited to IIS or some Antivirus applications.
This issue can be resolved by upgrading to Guardian OS 3.2.026 or later. Contact your Overland Storage customer representative for information about upgrades.
