The DHCP has assigned IP address, but I prefer to use a static IP for servers.

Version 1

The DHCP has assigned IP address, but I prefer to use a static IP for servers

    ---Solution---

SnapServers will accept an IP address from DHCP, however many users prefer to have permanent addresses for their server systems. This can be set through the Assist utility or the browser-based Administration Tool.

The simplest solution for this issue is to allow the DHCP server to assign the SnapServer an IP address, then switch over to a permanent IP address setting through the Network Settings/TCP/IP section of either the Assist utility (on Reconfigure, not initial setup) or the browser-based Administration Tool.

    • 1. Change the radio button from the top setting (use DHCP) to Use settings below,
    • 1. Fill in the desired IP settings.

When the SnapServer reboots it will use these settings instead of looking for an address from DHCP.
