Can you expand the volume on the SnapServer 4500 using the Snap Disk 10?
This information is not Operating System specific
You cannot expand an existing volume on a SnapServer 4500 using the SD10.
To increase the existing volume:
1. The data will need to be backed up and removed from the original volume.
2. If the drive sizes do not match, defining the RAID 1 to span multiple drives of different sizes will result in wasted space on the SD10 that will not be recoverable after the RAID1 is defined (a RAID 5 array cannot span the units).
3. These servers become married at this point, separating the Snap Disk 10 from the host 4500 when each contain members of the same RAID renders the RAID invalid.
