    ---Solution---

SnapServer Manager and the SnapServer send multicast packets for network discovery. In SnapServer Manager and GuardianOS version before the 3.2 release, the discovery packets appear as malformed.

Example of how the malformed packet may appear.

    Protocol: Portmap

    Program Version: 2
    V2 Procedure: CALLIT (5)
    Program: Unknown (351396)
    Version: 1
    Procedure: proc-1 (1)
    [Malformed Packet: Portmap]

Some UNIX NFS/NIS related services such as rpcbind or portmapper that listen on the same multicast channel have reportedly been impacted by the malformed packets.

The discovery packets from the 3.2.xxx release of SSM and Guardian OS are no longer malformed. For download and upgrade information, contact your Overland Storage customer service representative.
