Why am I having problems seeing the library and drive using an X6758A 375-3057 (Ultra 3 LVD HBA)?

Version 1

Cause: The proper drivers were not loaded for the X6758A 375-3057 (Ultra 3 LVD HBA). Instead of loading the correct driver, you might be using generic drivers.

Solution: Update the drivers per recommendation by Sun.
The Ultra 3 SCSI host bus adapters (HBAs) require separate device drivers to be added (SUNWqus, SUNWqusu, SUNWqusx, & SUNWqusux). After the drivers are added and the device can be seen, the new tape drive(s) entries should be seen under /dev/rmt and VERITAS sgscan should also be able to detect the devices.

-- The minimum operating system is Solaris 8 with the Recommended Patch Cluster.
-- The necessary driver for this HBA is not included in Solaris 8 or Solaris 9; you must download it.
-- The Patch ID is 112697-xx for Solaris 8 and 112706-xx for Solaris 9.
